Art Guidelines
Good digital art is the most important factor in producing a quality image on your finished product. Classic Imprints will accept artwork in almost any format, but be aware that art clean-up can be time consuming and expensive.
For Screen Printing Art: On Shirts and Promotional Items
- We accept art created in both Mac and PC format.
- With Vector art (lines and curves), file types we prefer are .ai (adobe illustrator) or .eps (encapsulated postscript). Include ALL supporting files used in creating the final piece.
- With Raster art (pixels / dots), file types we prefer are .psd, .tif, .bmp. or high resolution .jpg. Photoshop art should be saved as CMYK, 300 dpi at 100%. Include ALL supporting files used in creating the final piece. DO NOT flatten or merge the layers of a Photoshop file. Send the fonts required with your original file.
- All fonts in vector art should be converted to curves, paths, or outlines. This will decrease potential issues or errors. We can help you do this, or send the fonts required with your original file.
- Include Pantone colors if known.
- Should you not have digital art, we can work with camera-ready art, laser print output or any art with good contrast and sharp edges. Art submitted in these formats will involve digitally redrawing or scanning the image and charges may apply.
For Digital Prints:
- CMYK files at 200 to 300 dpi at 100% of actual output size. Simply raising the dpi of a lower resolution graphic will not improve the quality. Most internet graphics are not acceptable for printing.
